Diptych Set - Empire Art Direct's collection of reverse printed, frame-less, free floating, tempered glass was inspired by the French technique of Verre Eglomise in which artist's literally painted the back of clear glass so that when viewed from the front the painting is brought to life under the depth of the glass. Streaming across a monochrome landscape, Bands of Gold successfully draws out the shining qualities of gold. The flow of black and white on this image makes it feel like an aerial image of snowy mountains, with dark, earthen foothills. The long streams of gold are like the mountain's peaks, capped by gold instead of snow, touched by divinity.
